The town of Sieniawa was located on the land of Dybkow village, mentioned already in the 15th century. C.1650, the owner of the estate built on the near hill a brick fortress called Sieniawa, reinforced with earthworks and bastions. With town location in 1676, the manor erection (a family seat of the Sieniawskis) was started as well as the Dominicans church and monastery and also the San river port.

Moreover, in the town there are also fragments of the brick-earthen fortifications of the former Sieniawskis castle from the 17th century, a town hall from the same period, the 18th century burgher houses located at the marketplace, rebuilt in the 19th century, a Jewish cemetery – “kirkut” with the oldest gravestone, 1686 and an “ohel” (a tent) of tzadik of Sieniawa – Ezechiel Szragi Halberstam.

In villages situated in the environ of Sieniawa, there are some preserved wooden Greek-Catholic churches. In the village of Rudki, there is a little orthodox church of the Dormition of Mary with a cupola and arcades on the north and south side of the nave. The church is one of the monuments of The Route of Wooden Architecture of the Podkarpackie Voivodship. In 1921, the new brick sanctuary was constructed nearby.
