The Mother of God of Snow Church
and Convent of Sisters of Charity
The church and the convent of Sisters of Charity was founded by the mighty owners of the town – Zofia nee Krasińska and Antoni Lubomirski. The Mother of God of Snow church wit a convent wing was erected in the years 1778–1784 in a place of the previous church with the same call. The worshipped effigy of The Mother of God of Snow in the high altar, derives from the old sanctuary. The founders entrusted a hospital for the poor to Sisters of Charity. On the façade of the church the coat-of-arms of the founders are visible and there is a fresco in the semicircular niche displaying a nun entrusted by St. Wincent a Paulo to Christ and Holy Spirit care.
At the convent complex a granary from 1869 was preserved as well as a sizeable part of the town’s defensive wall.
